How CSR transforms open-source information into systemic strategic assessments.
CSR Italia adopts a structured OSINT method, integrated into the Multi-System Tension Framework (MST), to analyse the dynamics of power, security and stability within the international system.
Architecture of the Analytical Process
The analysis follows a multi-level pipeline structured into seven steps.
1. Structured collection
Institutional sources, regulatory and legal documentation, open data, qualified media sources and international datasets.
2. Preliminary assessment (source & content vetting)
Assessment of traceability, internal consistency, potential biases and source positioning.
3. Cross-corroboration
Comparison across independent sources and verification of any discrepancies.
4. Multi-domain contextualisation
Integration of the information into the structural domains used by the MST framework: security, energy, finance, regulatory, cognitive, and technological-industrial.
5. Translation into systemic assessment
Assignment of the Domain Score and assessment of the Adaptive Capacity Index (ICA).
6. Explicit analytical separation
Each analysis clearly distinguishes between:
— observable facts
— structural assessment
— analytical inferences
7. Dynamic review
Analyses may be updated when systemic conditions change or new information emerges.
Reliability Standards for the OSINT Method
CSR does not assume that open-source information is inherently neutral.
Each piece of information is assessed according to:
— source reliability
— convergence with independent evidence
— systemic consistency with the analytical framework of the MST
— relevance to systemic tension thresholds
Information validated through this process is integrated into the analysis of geopolitical macro-regions and contributes to the systemic assessment expressed through the Global System Assessment (GSA).
